Who is supported?
Artists and members of culture-related professions with an existing main residence in Bavaria are eligible to apply (key date for application period 2020: October 1, 2020, key date for application period January to June 2021: January 1, 2021, key date for application period July to December 2021: July 1, 2021, key date for application period January to March 2022: January 1. January 2022, cut-off date application period April to June 2022: April 1, 2022), who have been carrying out an artistic, journalistic or cultural-related activity on a gainful and not merely temporary basis since February 1, 2020 at the latest.
Further requirements?
Persons must be active as a solo self-employed person or in dependent employment with changing engagements and/or with different employers. Applicants who do not have employees are considered solo self-employed.
A prerequisite is that the applicants:
- are insured under the Artists' Social Insurance Act or
- make a living predominantly from gainful artistic or journalistic activity according to the catalog of the Artists' Social Insurance Fund or
- make a living predominantly from gainful activity in culture-related areas; this includes, for example, the activities in the field of event organization and management, as a cultural mediator, artist mediator, manager and agent, educator and technician, insofar as these relate in each case to the cultural field (music, theater and performing arts, visual arts and design, film and media, local history and historical preservation, literature, museums and exhibitions).
- as a solo self-employed or in dependent employment with changing engagements and herefrom predominantly earn their living
Further prerequisite is a significant decline in sales, ie. the applicant must demonstrate that average total monthly revenue for the application period has decreased by at least 30 percent compared to average total monthly revenue for 2019 due to revenue loss from the Corona pandemic
What is supported?
As financial assistance, a notional entrepreneurial wage in the amount of the decline in sales in the application period, but not more than 1,180 euros per application month, as well as, if applicable, the reimbursement of the proven costs for the assistance of a tax advisor, auditor, certified public accountant or lawyer in the context of the application are granted.
How is assistance provided?
The applicant submits an application to the responsible granting office for the granting of a notional entrepreneur's wage in the amount of the decline in sales during the application period, but not more than 1,180 euros per application month.
