Energy+ Forum on Climate Protection and Economic Efficiency on May 10

The climate policy pressure continues to increase. Protest movements such as Fridays for Future, extreme weather events and Germany's dependence on the import of fossil fuels, which has recently become dramatically clear, are forcing politics and business to act.

Already last year, the Federal Constitutional Court declared parts of the Federal Climate Protection Act unconstitutional and demanded far greater  efforts - a drumbeat that reflexively set new legislative projects in motion. But failures of the past decades cannot be made up overnight. The "opening balance sheet on climate protection" presented in mid-January by Economics and Climate Protection Minister Robert Habeck is correspondingly sobering: "We are starting with a drastic backlog. The climate protection measures to date are inadequate in all sectors," his statement reads. As a result of the war in Ukraine, the energy crisis in Germany has once again worsened enormously. Energy prices are exploding and placing a burden on medium-sized companies in particular. According to a recent BDI study, 9 out of 10 companies rate the increased energy prices as a strong or even existential challenge. As a flip side, the high energy costs lead to companies increasingly postponing their climate investments - a Gordian knot that urgently needs to be cut!

In the current situation, far-sightedness is called for - and treatment of causes instead of symptoms. This year's ENERGY+ FORUM by Rödl & Partner in cooperation with Bayern Innovativ offers orientation and answers in these difficult times based on practical examples from German SMEs.
