In 2020, Russia supplied a total of about 168 billion cubic meters of natural gas via pipelines to Europe, according to BP. In the aforementioned year, Germany was the most important customer for Russian natural gas within the European Union, with a total of around 56.3 billion cubic meters of imported natural gas via pipelines.
