Press release of the StmWi

Electromobility is making a key contribution to the transition to climate-neutral mobility. Due to increasing freight transport volumes, the electrification of road freight transport is also becoming increasingly important. The aim of this funding program is therefore to set up charging points for electric goods transport vehicles that are not accessible to the public. The aim is to create an incentive for relevant companies operating in the freight transport sector to electrify their vehicle fleets.

The funding measure is implemented via corresponding calls, with additional content requirements if necessary. As a rule, one call is planned per year.

Who can submit an application?

Eligible applicants are economically active companies with a branch or permanent establishment in the Free State of Bavaria that are active in the field of freight transportation.

What is funded?

Funding is provided for the procurement and construction or modernization of stationary, non-publicly accessible conductive DC fast charging points with CCS plugs (DIN EN 62196-3 or Combo for DC charging) or more powerful plug standards with EU standard (e.g. MCS for "megawatt charging") in Bavaria, which are intended for charging electric goods transport vehicles, including the necessary grid connection and installation of the charging station. Further details and framework conditions are specified in the funding calls with supplementary information on the funding guideline.

What are the main requirements that must be met?

  • Charging locations in Bavaria
  • Installation and commissioning of the charging infrastructure must be carried out by specialist companies
  • Ensuring a minimum operating period of three years
  • No start of measures before receipt of the grant notification. The award of a delivery or service contract attributable to the execution is deemed to be the start of the measure

How is funding provided?

Funding is provided as a non-repayable grant in the form of partial financing. The available funding is awarded by means of funding calls. The funding is reimbursed after the charging points have been commissioned on the basis of a submitted proof of use.

How do I apply for funding?

The application procedure is a one-stage process. Applications can only be submitted as part of specific calls for funding via the project sponsor's electronic form system. Applications are evaluated in descending order of "predicted environmental impact per charging point" within the framework of the available funding. The corresponding application form for each funding call can be found under the following link (will be published as soon as the funding calls have started).
