The thematic platforms Work 4.0 , Cybersecurity and Production & Engineering have made some contributions to this.

How could the Cybersecurity theme platform support?

The Cybersecurity Theme Platform integrated best practices on industrial cybersecurity, such as secure remote services, network segmentation and secure operations, SW apps in untrusted environments, standards & norms, and qualification measures.

The Whitepaper

In the Whitepaper , resilience is classified as a strategic field of action with the goal of digital sovereignty of the Industrie 4.0 platform. This is intended to cushion shocks or upheavals in the social, economic or political framework conditions and promote adaptive flexibility. Companies can thus strengthen their competitiveness.

Three areas of action have been identified using new technologies:

  • Sovereignty through open, interoperable and secure data ecosystems
  • Security of supply
  • Flexibility and adaptability

Companies should be enabled to reorganize their business relationships in a new and secure way throughout the value network and to experience multilateral cooperation in a protected manner. German industry should identify digital infrastructures for relevant resources, such as data or raw materials, and develop proactive security mechanisms together with policymakers. In addition, industry should expand mutability through production processes, business models and service offerings that can be flexibly adapted to ever-changing requirements and framework conditions.
