New funding initiative for intelligent electronic systems in Bavaria
The Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy (StMWi) is planning to promote open-application innovations in the field of intelligent electronic systems as part of an upcoming announcement. The aim is to further advance digitalization in Bavaria and contribute to solving social challenges.
Funding will be provided for research and development expenditure within the framework of pre-competitive, industry-driven collaborative projects. The focus is on projects with significant technological innovations in electronic systems and the underlying process technologies.

Funding requirements at a glance:
- Project consortium with at least two partners, including at least one company
- Participation of universities, colleges and non-university research institutions possible
- Work to be carried out exclusively in Bavaria
-Companies from all sectors are eligible to apply
- SMEs are particularly encouraged to submit project outlines
The specific funding requirements are set out in the guidelines valid at the time of publication. The current guideline of the "Bavarian Collaborative Research Program (BayVFP)" expires on 31.12.2025. The final announcement will be made after the new guideline has been established - probably in spring 2026.
