In the European Union, there is a great need for digitization of SMEs, according to the EU Commission. Companies often lack the capabilities or willingness to use digital technologies. The background to this is a lack of investment and innovation in research and development, human resources, organization and process management.
EU project "P2P Digital"
In the EU project "P2P Digital", Bavaria, Stockholm (Sweden), Copenhagen (Denmark), Flanders (Belgium) and Tallinn (Estonia) are working together on methods and tools for the digitization of SMEs. As a partner in the project, Bayern Innovativ contributes Bavarian know-how and networks the Bavarian players with innovative regions in Europe.
The objective of the "P2P Digital" project is to enable innovation funding institutions to quickly and effectively develop new initiatives and methods for digitization. These are intended to support small and medium-sized enterprises in increasing their competitiveness, growth and number of employees through digitization. The two-year (2018 - 2019) EU project includes joint workshops in the participating regions. The possible digitization measures will then be jointly discussed and evaluated. Following the workshops, a "Design Option Paper" will be produced.
The Swedish project partner Tillväxtverket will offer a training event for 16 participants from European companies and organizations in the field of innovation support as part of the project.
