In mid-October, Sensodrive was awarded one of the main prizes of the prestigious Innovation Award Bavaria 2024 by Minister of Economic Affairs Hubert Aiwanger for the SensoJoint robotic drive modules.
Congratulations from the Mechatronics & Automation Cluster! Sensodrive is one of our founding members and was spun off from the German Aerospace Center (DLR) as Sensodrive GmbH in 2003. Its portfolio includes the first torque sensor available for industry, the world's first complete robotic drive with integrated torque measurement and control and the first AI-optimized cobot from the 3D printer.
Sensodrive has now been awarded for its SensoJoints - ready-to-install complete drives with which Sensodrive is revolutionizing the development of cobots and medical robots: because with these complete drives, any company can develop technically leading cobots and medical robots in the shortest possible time. SensoJoints reduce both the costs and the effort involved in developing and certifying the drives to a minimum and provide valuable competitive advantages.
For safe human-robot collaboration (HRC) and human-robot interaction (HRI), cobots and medical robots must offer the highest level of sensitivity and safety functions. In particular, the development of the drives and their safety certification used to be extremely time-consuming and costly. Robotics manufacturers had to develop their own drive solutions from numerous individual components, test them until they were ready for the market and have them certified in accordance with a large number of safety standards. A universally applicable complete drive for cobots and medical robots did not yet exist.
With its SensoJoints, Sensodrive GmbH now offers the world's first universal complete drive in which all drive components are already combined in a ready-to-install component - optimally matched to each other and with market-leading technology.
