Review: Day of digitized production at the OITC

In mid-October, interested parties were able to get an idea of the Open Industrial Training Center (OITC) in Augsburg. As part of the Day of Digitalized Production, Augsburg University of Applied Sciences invited visitors to the campus on Brunnenlech.

In future, companies will be able to carry out simulations for their production processes in semi-virtual environments. This is an important step in the transformation towards Industry 4.0 - it makes it possible to assess how networking and operation can best be designed.

As part of the Augsburg AI Production Network, the Open Industrial Training Center (OITC) was set up at Augsburg University of Applied Sciences (THA), funded by Hightech Agenda Bayern.

On the Day of Digitalized Production, interested companies were able to obtain information on site and come into contact with THA researchers. Workshops were held on topics including digital twins, industrial security, data management and AI. Christian Herfert, Senior Vice President Special Technologies of the Grenzebach Group, gave a keynote speech on the current challenges in industrial production.

For the companies, the event was also a great opportunity to network, meet familiar and new faces from the Augsburg AI Production Network and get in touch with Technology Transfer Manager Dr. Oliver Böhm.
