RECENTRE is an Interreg Alpine Space project and is funded by the EU within the project framework 2021-2027 (duration: 01.09.2024-30.08.2027). Thirteen partners from six countries are involved in the project.

The production sector plays an important role for the economy and living conditions in the Alpine region. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the fields of mechatronics, automation and bioeconomy are committed to greater efficiency, flexibility and sustainability on a daily basis. In order to survive in a highly digitalized ecosystem, they must be able to acquire qualified specialists. High interest rates and an increase in global risks can put the brakes on SMEs' transformation plans. The EU is addressing these challenges with its industrial strategy - Industry 5.0 after Industry 4.0 and the coronavirus consequences. This strategy aims to support SMEs in their transformation: Implementation and use of advanced technologies and AI, reduction of environmental impact, more resilient processes - while considering the company as part of the social ecosystem.
Industry 5.0 can support the transformation of the Alpine manufacturing sector, but must take local specificities into account and be adapted. In this context, the RECENTRE project has a vision of strengthening Alpine production and making the sector more adaptable, resilient and future-oriented. The core element is to accelerate the green transformation of the Alpine production sector. In addition to the implementation and use of advanced technologies, the focus is also on the well-being of employees.
RECENTRE integrates green manufacturing, digitalization and people-centric growth. These components are crucial for flexibility, efficiency and sustainability, all of which are essential for the competitive success of companies.
RECENTRE will support SMEs in the introduction of Industry 5.0 and encourage companies to try out new things. Support services developed in the project will enable companies to pursue their own transformation plans towards Industry 5.0.
