Future Week Augsburg: A week dedicated to future topics

Rocketeer Festival, Technology Transfer Congress and Smart Production Symposium - concentrated innovative power on site

23.04.2025

The cluster team was active in Augsburg for a week - as part of Future Week, the focus was naturally also on the topic of production of the future. New impulses, a good network, lots of energy - the production location Augsburg and its networks presented themselves from their best side!

"The future is Augsburg today!" - with these words, the Bavarian Minister of State for Digital Affairs, Dr. Fabian Mehring, opened the Rocketeer Festival on 10 April 2025. There was a lot going on as part of the FUTURE WEEK AUGSBURG. Our team organized events this week and was represented at various networking highlights. We were able to talk to many innovation enthusiasts.

The Rocketeer Festival was all about digital future trends and artificial intelligence. Together with the Mechatronics & Automation Cluster and the AI Production Network, the team used the day to identify current topics in the world of mechatronics and to maintain and expand the network. This is because production and technology come together at the cluster's Augsburg site.

Among others, Eva Weber, Lord Mayor of the City of Augsburg, Dr. Fabian Mehring, Bavarian State Minister for Digital Affairs, Andreas Schmutterer, Chairman of the Management Board, Mediengruppe Pressedruck / Augsburger Allgemeine | Host of the Rocketeer Festival, and Fabian Ziegler, Chairman of the Digital Council of the City of Augsburg | Managing Director of TEAM23, stopped by our stand.

The Augsburg Technology Transfer Congress is an exchange platform for business and science. The Mechatronics & Automation Cluster and the AI Production Network were also on site and learned the following:

  • Interdisciplinarity as a driver of innovation
  • Technology transfer needs more courage to cooperate
  • Artificial intelligence as an enabler for the production of tomorrow
  • Networks as the key to acceleration

At the symposium "Smart Production: Next-Gen Innovations in the Context of Manufacturing-X", everything revolved around the world of data and how to handle it correctly. 15 specialist presentations shed light on the topic of data exchange in front of around 70 guests. The exciting keynote speech by Bernd Beschorner showed that lunar colonization is anything but science fiction, but is already being planned. Many thanks to our partners MAI Carbon and Team 23 as well as to the speakers: Johannes be Isa, Florian Krebs, Andreas Gallasch, Stefan Sailer, Mathis Toppmöller, Sonja Schumacher, Henning Heine, Martin Juhrisch, Alwin Hoffmann, Sebastian Heger, Joachim Starke, Fabian Ziegler, Markus Sause, Bernd Beschorner, Matthias Fendt.
