The EU Woman Innovators Award recognizes female entrepreneurs who have produced groundbreaking innovations. In this way, the EU aims to raise awareness of the need for more female innovators and create role models for women and girls around the world.
The Woman Innovators Prize is awarded to the most talented female entrepreneurs from across the EU and Horizon Europe associated countries who have created a successful business and brought an innovation to market. The award is managed by the European Innovation Council and the Executive Agency for SMEs. Winners are selected by an independent jury of experts.
There are two prize categories:
"Women Innovators" category: three prizes of EUR 100 000 each, awarded to the most talented women innovators from the EU and associated countries
"Emerging Innovators" category: Three prizes of EUR 50 000 each to the most promising young innovators aged 35 or younger
Applications will be judged on the following criteria:
Breakthrough Innovation - the company founded or co-founded by the applicant offers a truly innovative product or service to the EU market. Impact - the product or service targets a specific societal need or challenge, with significant benefits for people and/or the planet. Inspiration - the applicant has played a critical role in the success of the company and is a role model for other women and girls.
