The funding measure is intended to contribute to the avoidance of greenhouse gas emissions in industry and thus support the implementation of the Federal Government's Climate Action Plan 2050 and the FONA strategy of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
The industrial sector is the second largest emitter of greenhouse gases in Germany, with emissions attributable to both the use of energy and direct production processes. To avoid this, processes must be replaced by modern, sustainable technologies. At the same time, economic success and international competitiveness must be maintained. Funding is provided for basic industrial research and development projects, particularly by SMEs, which are high-risk and therefore could not be carried out without funding.
Project outlines must be submitted by July 31, 2024 or June 30, 2025. June 30, 2025 .
