Neue Materialien Bayreuth GmbH opens digital demo factory for 3D plastic printing - and gets a tool center

On January 23, 2025, a pioneering real-world laboratory for powder-based 3D plastic printing was inaugurated at the pilot plant of Neue Materialien Bayreuth GmbH (NMB).
The new SLS demo factory at Neue Materialien Bayreuth GmbH is intended to investigate the process stability of selective laser sintering (SLS) on a larger scale and drive forward the industrial series use of additive manufacturing. A new tool center was also opened, which will house the central storage of tools and a mechanical workshop. Both projects were largely financed by the Free State of Bavaria and are intended to secure the competitiveness of the location.
