Cross-Cluster Project Material-Manufacturing-X

Potential for users and solution providers in the Bavarian SME sector

The cross-cluster project "MMX BAY" supports Bavarian SMEs and technology providers in integrating into the "Industry 4.0 data space", a federated and trust-based data ecosystem as part of the Manufacturing-X initiative. It serves as a catalyst to unlock value creation potential through secure, sovereign data exchange along the entire supply and production chain.

Project duration:

01.01.2025 - 31.12.2025

Background:

Data-based value creation is increasingly becoming a success factor for manufacturing companies. Nevertheless, there is a lack of practicable, secure and sovereign solutions for data exchange, especially in the SME sector. Manufacturing-X uses open standards and federated data spaces to create the basis for making industrial processes more efficient, sustainable and resilient.

Project goals:

1. Bavarian manufacturing SMEs with a focus on fiber composite technology, mechatronics/automation

  • Raising awareness of the potential of the Industry 4.0 data space
  • Providing contacts to regional solution providers and research institutions

2. Bavarian solution providers for technologies in the context of Maufacturing-X:

  • Highlighting market opportunities and fields of application for digital solutions.
  • Promoting cooperation with potential customers and research partners.

Target groups:

Medium-sized companies from the fields of fiber composite technology and mechatronics/automation and providers of technologies and services for industrial data spaces (companies, universities, research institutes).

Planned measures:

  • Carrying out needs analyses and information campaigns.
  • Development of concrete usage scenarios for users and market opportunities for providers.
  • Events to promote knowledge transfer and networking (e.g. symposium "Smart Production: Next-Gen Innovations in the context of Manufacturing-X")
