Announcement as part of the Federal Government's strategy for the internationalization of education, science and research
09.04.2025
On March 24, 2025, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) published a new funding announcement to support Indo-German research and development projects in the field of "New Materials". Funding will be provided for projects dealing with new materials for renewable energies, sensors, sustainable and resilient buildings and alternative energy storage systems.
Consortia consisting of German and Indian partners are eligible to apply. On the German side, universities, non-university research institutions and commercial enterprises, in particular small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), can participate. A key criterion for funding is the so-called 2+2 mode, which requires that each project involves at least one academic and one industrial partner from both countries.
Interested consortia can submit their project outlines to the Indo-German Science and Technology Centre (IGSTC ) by May 20, 2025, 13:00 (CET) at the latest. The funding measure will be handled by the DLR Project Management Agency. Further information is available in the official BMBF announcement.
