Future guide to technology transfer
„Zukunftswegweiser – Ein Handbuch für Unternehmen in Bayern“ - ab sofort erhältlich.

Dr. Tanja Jovanovic has created the book "Zukunftswegweiser - Ein Handbuch für Unternehmen in Bayern" with her colleagues Anja Groß and Andrea Janssen. Now she reveals to you the secrets of book creation. She takes you on an exciting journey through the world of innovation and transfer. At Bayern Innovativ, she is in charge of technology and innovation management.

In order for ideas to develop into successful innovations, the exchange of knowledge and technology must go hand in hand. This requires suitable transfers, each tailored to each company with their individual needs.

But how do small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and start-ups find the right partners and networks, and how does a targeted innovation management work? From now on, you will find all this combined in just one work - easy to understand, structured, application and practice-oriented! Sniff right into the innovation galaxies.

What is the book about?

Dr. Tanja Jovanovic: The Bavarian transfer landscape is large and not so easy to grasp, but the handbook provides a good introduction and easy access to the complex system. By and large, the Future Guide is about technology and knowledge transfer and thus about the transfer of all important innovation activities for companies. Because innovation management is a significant pillar for economic success. We want to show companies what opportunities they have and how to use them properly. In doing so, we pick you up for each individual issue and point out the options in a targeted manner, where you can turn and which contacts are the best. We pilot everyone safely through the confusion of the transfer landscape - together we overcome the hurdles.

How did the idea for the book come about and what did the implementation look like?

Dr. Tanja Jovanovic: After Bayern Innovativ stands, among other things, for networking and takes the pilot function especially for SMEs and start-ups, we wanted to create a book that picks up EVERYONE and everyone finds themselves there. Since we are close to the SMEs and were asked similar questions again and again, we looked into the individual challenges even more intensively. Often, companies are unaware of their opportunities and may miss out on important competitive advantages. This is now to change with the booklet!

The first idea, before the written implementation followed, came to us in April 2020. After that, a long and detailed research work and examination of the transfer landscape started. In doing so, we structured which issues were of greatest importance. Throughout the creation phase and in the coordination loops, our partners provided us with great support and very good impulses.

When you break it down to another level, we act as a kind of shopping escort. We greet each shopper at the entrance to the supermarket and ask them what they would like to cook tonight. Then we guide people purposefully to the appropriate shelves so that all the ingredients end up in the shopping cart in a time- and resource-saving way, leading to the perfect menu in the evening.

What is the structure of the handbook and why?

Dr. Tanja Jovanovic: The work contains the 25 most important topics and is divided into ten chapters. The latter are sorted thematically in the order in which the innovation activities take place one after the other. In addition, the sequence is based on the demand of the potential users. For example, collaborations are at the very front of the book and start-ups further back. These represent a special target group with special framework conditions, whose questions are not relevant to all and for which specific services also exist.

The further structure is user-friendly and clearly provides the appropriate networks and the right contacts. For after each individual question, we name a suitable companion to whom searchers can turn within this focus. In addition, we show practical examples so that readers can get a better idea of the support available. Last but not least, each chapter names other agents in the subject area to whom one can turn.

Why do different published formats exist?

Dr. Tanja Jovanovic: We have dealt with the clientele and the readers and want to offer the appropriately right form for each type. For this reason, we have decided on a total of three variants:

  • the book for touching and physical browsing
  • as an e-book
  • and as an interactive transfer guide on our homepage.

The haptic manual is for all enthusiasts of printed content who like to hold something tangible. The digital book is especially well suited for on-the-go - whether smartphone, tablet or laptop - so easy access is guaranteed everywhere. And what's more, with just a few clicks, interested parties have the option of using the simplified interactive book variant. Here you can quickly and unerringly find the right points of contact for you.

On to the transfer pilot:

Do you have a chapter recommendation or a personal favorite chapter?

Dr. Tanja Jovanovic: Of course, my heart and soul clearly goes out to the chapter on innovation management . After all, it is one of my daily tasks at Bayern Innovativ. But since all ideas and innovations as well as their promotion and implementation are very important, there are only favorite chapters in this book. After all, all offers and partners are equally important and have an enormous significance for the advancement of the Bavarian economy.

How was the cooperation?

Dr. Tanja Jovanovic: All those involved in the project were on fire for the Zukunftswegweiser right from the start and pulled together. My two team members Anja Groß and Andrea Janssen , who formed the writing team with me. But also all the partners listed in our book were a great support! Many thanks to all!
Finally, it remains to say that we are also happy to be there for you personally. Just contact us- we will help you!
