The study "2030 I Automotive Industry in Bavaria" is the result of cooperation between Bayern Innovativ GmbH and ITONICS GmbH. Based on four scenarios, it shows different visions of the future and challenges for industry and politics and derives recommendations for action.

Four future scenarios describe the developments and world of the automotive industry in 2030 and the associated implications for industry stakeholders. The diagram pointedly summarizes the four scenarios diversity dilemma, incremental change, software dominance and comfort zone .

Scenarios are a fundamental component for the strategic planning of every company and in the design of political support instruments:

The plausible images of the future provide orientation.
Measures can be derived more easily.
Negative developments can be counteracted at an early stage.

With the help of 13 industry experts and software-supported scenario technology four equally plausible scenarios were developed and validated for the study "2030 I Automotive Industry in Bavaria":

On the basis of 108 influencing factors that are crucial for the automotive industry, 24 key factors were first identified and projected in different future directions.

The resulting four future pictures provide implications and recommendations for action for the automotive industry in Bavaria, OEMs, suppliers and politics.

The goal is to anticipate the scenarios at an early stage by taking appropriate action in order to maintain a prominent position in the mobility world in 2030.
