On January 21, 2025, we had the pleasure of visiting another company as part of our Healthtech Innovation Heroes series. This time we were guests of our partner terraplasma and terraplasma medical in Garching. The focus was on "Plasma technology in focus: efficiency, sustainability and new applications".
The well-attended event offered participants - experts from various fields such as medical technology, research and industry - the opportunity to find out about the latest developments in cold plasma technology.
Dr. Julia Zimmermann, founder of terraplasma, provided exciting insights into the technology's functionality and mode of action. She also demonstrated its wide range of possible applications, which can be found not only in the medical technology sector, but also in many other specialist areas such as water treatment, odor management and agriculture to increase crop yields, and will also have many other uses in the future. terraplasma always welcomes contacts and exchanges within the network.
A specific insight into the medical use of cold plasma, also integrated into a medical product, was then provided by Jens Kirsch, founder of terraplasma medical. Here, the developed technology is used to support wound healing and treat skin diseases. Due to the many advantages and proven effectiveness of the innovative approach, the company clearly sets itself apart from current treatment methods. However, this also shows that new technologies and therapeutic approaches have to successfully overcome a marathon of hurdles before they can be made available to the general population.
After an exciting tour of the host company terraplasma's laboratories with hands-on cold plasma, the day concluded with a get-together and the opportunity for professional exchange and networking.
You can already look forward to our next Healthtech Innovation Hero in the summer. It will be hosted by Kumovis. Further information will follow shortly online in our event calendar.
