New paths for Bayern Innovativ's health sector

What is now firmly established as the "Healthcare Division" at Bayern Innovativ GmbH was just a few years ago a small, dedicated team in what was then Forum MedTech Pharma e.V. Under the leadership of Dr. Jörg Traub, this team grew not only in terms of personnel, but above all in terms of content and structure. With great vision, innovative spirit and strong leadership, Jörg Traub transformed the former Forum Medtech Pharma e.V. into a powerful health innovation network with around 25 employees - firmly anchored in the Bayern Innovativ organization.
The integration of the association into the structures of Bayern Innovativ was a decisive step. It not only enabled stronger networking within the Bavarian ecosystem, but also significantly greater visibility and impact for the healthcare sector in Bavaria. Under the leadership of Dr. Jörg Traub, numerous federal and EU projects were initiated, implemented and successfully completed alongside Bavarian projects - from application-oriented funding measures and cross-sector innovation platforms to targeted offers for start-ups, SMEs and industry partners. Bayern Innovativ Gesundheit has become the central address for medical technology and healthcare players in Bavaria.
"I am proud of what we have built together over these five years - a great team, strong partnerships and many projects that really make a difference," said Dr. Jörg Traub on his departure. "It was a matter close to my heart to support and promote the Bavarian healthcare industry in its diversity and innovative strength. I wish my successor Sebastian Hilke every success and look forward to seeing how the health innovation network at Bayern Innovativ continues to develop. Everything is in excellent hands with him."

Sebastian Hilke is no stranger to the scene: he has been responsible for the important area of digital health within the division since 2021. With his comprehensive understanding of the market, his analytical clarity and a keen sense for forward-looking developments, he has provided new impetus - for example through projects on digital patient care, telemedicine, interoperable data structures and AI applications in the healthcare sector.
"I see it as our task to bring innovations into healthcare not only in terms of technology, but above all in a meaningful and sustainable way," says Sebastian Hilke. "Especially in a highly regulated, sensitive environment like the healthcare sector, you need expertise, perseverance and good networks - and we have a lot of that at Bayern Innovativ."
His aim is to further strengthen the structures that have already been created and boldly tackle new topics. "We want to use the opportunities offered by digitalization, precision medicine, new business models and networking strategies to create real added value for society - together with industry, research and healthcare."

The Bayern Innovativ Gesundheit team remains at full strength - with expertise, commitment and a clear focus on the needs of the Bavarian healthcare industry. Whether medical technology, biotechnology, digital healthcare solutions or cross-sector innovations: The contacts are there where they are needed - as bridge builders, initiators and implementation partners.
The change in division management does not mark a break, but rather a continuation or further development - building on what has been achieved so far and open to new ideas. It goes on. We are moving forward. And we are aiming high.
