The breeding site for peregrine falcons at the Stadtwerke power station in Bochum-Hiltrop has been in existence for eight years.
Peregrine falcons use it continuously as a nesting site.
Two female and two male young were marked with rings by the NRW Peregrine Falcon Protection Working Group. Peregrine falcons are distributed worldwide and colonize almost all continents. In addition to natural rock formations, they also breed in artificial structures such as power station towers, transmission masts and church steeples.
