Three out of four homeowners feel poorly informed about heating alternatives and energy renovation - according to a survey by the agency Pollytix. An online portal offers help.
A representative survey by the agency Pollytix found that 76 percent of Germans feel poorly informed about the expected costs of a new heating system and renovations. Many homeowners would stand before the question whether they can afford a heating exchange at all. Here the on-line portal wants to help modernization check. It is made available by the non-profit GmbH CO2 on-line one.
The portal makes it possible for houseowners to examine the costs and the economy of reorganization measures for their building. The free and independent online advice is based on current data on energy prices, modernization costs and subsidies from the federal and state governments. According to empirical values two thirds of the costs of an energetic reorganization would result anyway for maintenance. In addition there are promotions for consultation and specialized planning, so CO2 on-line one.
More costs for energetic reorganization are worthwhile
Alexander Steinfeldt, speaker of the consulting firm, explained: "Investments for the energetic reorganization at a value of 90,000 euro mean for owners of house a monthly load of 90 to 150 euro over 20 years." But the renovation pays off in noticeably lower heating costs and increases the value of the property, he added. Government grants and development loans support homeowners.
CO2-Online recommends an individual reorganization roadmap of an energy consultant as the first step before the reorganization. This is promoted with 80 per cent of the costs nationally. Before and during the reorganization homeowners could rely on a specialized consultation and building company, which are likewise subsidized in the context of the federal promotion for efficient buildings (BEG), so Steinfeldt.
The non-profit consulting company CO2-Online, based in Berlin, has been supporting climate protection since 2003 with campaigns, energy calculators and practical checks for energy savings in private households. CO2-Online is supported by the European Commission as well as by the Federal Ministry of Economics and the Federal Ministry of Science.
