The company Zenturio has developed a software-as-a-service for district heating. It is now receiving further funding from a seed financing round.

The district heating start-up "Zentur.io" from Landshut in Bavaria has received millions in investment funds. The two investors Bayern Kapital and Enpuls have invested a seven-figure sum in the company, according to a joint announcement.

Bayern Kapital is the venture capital company of the Free State of Bavaria, while Enpuls is part of the EnBW Group. The financing is provided by the ERDF II innovation fund, which supports young technology start-ups outside the greater Munich area.

The aim of Zenturio is to make the district heating supply more digital, customer-centric and greener. To implement these optimizations, the start-up has developed an AI-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution. This "District Heating AI" supports energy suppliers along the entire value chain of district heating networks, from the planning and construction of new networks to the integration of renewable energies.

Co-founder and CEO Michael Detke says: "For three years, we financed ourselves with our own funds and were thus able to reach a number of customers and grow to ten employees. But now we want to expand more and secure a decent share of the burgeoning market."

Founded in 2021 by two graduates from Landshut University of Applied Sciences, Zenturio says it has already successfully completed various pilot projects and acquired district heating suppliers as customers. It has also won several innovation competitions, such as the "Digital Innovations" start-up prize.

The financing round will enable the company to expand its core team, increase its sales capacities and develop new products in order to acquire additional customers. Zenturio is aimed at private energy suppliers and municipal utilities that operate district heating networks but have little IT expertise and free resources.
