Kick-off for the Bayern Innovativ battery network

On June 28, important stakeholders and committed networkers met at Bayern Innovativ GmbH at Tullnaupark in Nuremberg to jointly lay the foundation stone for the "Battery Network Bavaria" . At Bayern Innovativ, numerous innovation networks and specialist departments work closely together to drive the future of battery technology forward. Among others, the following were represented:

- the New Materials Cluster & Mechatronics Cluster & Automation - Material & Production Cluster at Bayern Innovativ
- the Automotive - Mobility Cluster at Bayern Innovativ
- the Energy Technology - Energy Cluster at Bayern Innovativ

Supported by our Team Technology and Innovation Management , the needs of the members and the main topics, including network formats, were developed and analyzed in an interactive kick-off workshop. The topics identified included financing companies and locations, supply chain analysis, business models, battery recycling and material flows. The visibility of the network and its members was also an important point. We are currently developing a competence map based on the metric that is also used by the EU. The aim is to classify companies and research institutions along the value chain. We are cooperating with the Bavarian Research Foundation to create this map. The participants also mentioned regular meetings with the network partners and a newsletter as an important communication and exchange format. These activities will be tackled in 2024.

As part of the "Transformation HUB Value Chain Battery (TraWeBa)", we are interviewing Bavarian companies and supporting the Automotive Cluster East Germany in creating an online exchange platform that supports technology transfer along the value chain. More about the project: https://traweba.de/
