Interdisciplinary research in science and higher education

The Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) funds interdisciplinary research on structures and performance processes in science and higher education as part of the funding priority "Science and Higher Education Research (FSP WiHo)". The framework announcement aims to strengthen the WiHo research field and offer more flexibility.

State and state-recognized universities, non-university research and scientific institutions as well as other institutions and funding bodies belonging to the state university sector are eligible to apply. Additional participation of associated partners (i.e. without funding) in the network is generally possible.

Funding is provided through regular calls for proposals on www.wihoforschung.de. VDI/VDE Innovation + Technik GmbH has been commissioned as the project management organization. The two-stage application procedure first requires the submission of project outlines in written and electronic form to the project management organization by the respective deadlines specified.
