With the "Future.Research.Biogas" funding call, the BMEL wants to support projects that make biogas production more efficient.
The Federal Ministry of Agriculture (BMEL) wants to promote practical projects for the further development of biogas technology and is hoping for active participation from industry, especially small and medium-sized companies. This is according to a statement from the Agency for Renewable Resources (FNR), which is responsible for the funding call "Zukunft. Research.Biogas" funding call.
The agency is looking for proposals for increasing the efficiency of biogas production and use, ideas for reducing emissions and projects for system integration and sector coupling with biogas and biomethane. Scientific work on the use of residual and waste materials could also be funded.
Eligible for funding are:
- forward-looking and cost-effective technologies,
- processes and concepts to optimize and increase the efficiency of biogas production and use, including projects to reduce emissions in biogas production and in substrate and digestate management
- projects that help to tap into the potential of biogas and biomethane in system integration and sector coupling
- projects on the substrate base from residual and waste materials from agriculture, landscape conservation, industry, trade, commerce and municipalities.
In addition, a free topic area will be used to address specific issues that are not covered by the explicitly listed funding areas but have a relevant influence on the desired developments in biogas technology.
The FNR will accept project outlines until July 15, 2024.
