The German Energy Agency (dena) is looking for projects that demonstrate how companies successfully reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. Since 2007, dena has been awarding prizes to projects as well as concepts that demonstrate how the path to climate neutrality and the transformation of industry can succeed. The award is under the patronage of Federal Minister of Economics Dr. Robert Habeck.
Application
Companies of any size and industry from Germany and abroad can participate. Can be submitted projects or concepts for energy and CO2 savings in four categories. The commitment of small and medium-sized enterprises is honored with an additional special prize. An online form is available on the website for participation. The deadline for applications is June 12, 2023.
The jury
An independent jury will select the nominations and award winners. The jury is made up of high-caliber representatives of the BMWK, the media, business, science, KfW and dena.
The nomination
Up to three projects are nominated in each category. The nominated projects will be published on the website with a project or concept profile.
The award ceremony
The winners of all categories will be awarded at the dena Energy Transition Congress on November 13, 2023 in Berlin. The three nominated companies for the concepts category will present their strategies live. The audience will decide which concept will receive the award.
The prizes
The award is sponsored by BMWK and supported by KfW as a premium partner. It is endowed with prize money totaling 30,000 euros. In addition, the nominees and award winners receive a seal for their public relations work and the award winners receive a trophy.
