With a new energy contracting offer, the Biomassehof Allgäu eG turns to property developers, housing associations, municipalities, corporate customers and hotels.

Customers in the Allgäu are to come in the future simply to an "optimal eco-heating concept", without having to invest in new plants themselves, as it is called in a message of the Biomessehof. The Kempten-based company is primarily targeting consumers who need to efficiently heat and cool an area of more than 1,500 square meters.

The companies do not need to take care of the selection of heating technology for their properties themselves, but leave that to the cooperative as a service provider. Energy engineer Matthias Lell and his staff develop a special concept for each project and take care of the necessary investments. There are no direct investment costs for the customer: They are billed via an agreed heat price, which is made up of the apportionment for the investments and the service as well as the consumption costs.

"For our customers, this is the all-round carefree package, so to speak. Because we take care of everything, from planning and financing to construction and operation of the plants," says Lell. The new service offer is made possible by the financial participation in Südwärme Gesellschaft für Energielieferung, based in Munich, which has already been offering such contracting packages for more than 30 years and cooperates with 21 partners in the regions.

Comprehensive green energy provider

With the entry into energy contracting, Biomassehof Allgäu continues to expand its range of services and now finally assumes the role as a fully comprehensive green energy provider in the region, as it says on the part of the cooperative. Most recently, the energy cooperative from Kempten had already included eco-gas and eco-electricity in its portfolio. "The times when we were a pure pellet producer and supplier are definitely over. Instead, we have become a permanent fixture on the energy market in the Allgäu region," emphasizes board member Peter Schweinberg.

"The conversion to modern heating systems is urgently necessary in the context of the energy turnaround. In many companies, however, there is no time in the stressful day-to-day business for the major planning effort, not to mention the investment costs," explains Lell. This is where they could benefit from energy contracting. The biomass farm takes over the project from start to finish. Another advantage is the reliability of energy cost calculations. The question of the energy source is also approached with complete openness. After commissioning, the biomass yard takes over the operation of the plant in a second step - including fuel supply, maintenance, billing and administrative tasks.

The Biomassehof Allgäu was founded in 1997 on the initiative of the "Forest Owners Association Kempten Land und Stadt". Since 2008, it has been a cooperative. In addition to companies, more than 900 private individuals are also members.
