Bayern Innovativ moderates hydrogen session at OFF-GRID
10/20/2023
The use of green hydrogen for off-grid electrification holds immense opportunities as a sustainable and environmentally friendly solution to meet the energy needs of remote and underserved areas.
Green hydrogen is produced through electrolysis, which uses renewable energy sources such as solar energy or wind power to split water into hydrogen and oxygen without producing harmful emissions. This clean and efficient energy source can be easily stored and transported, making it ideal for remote regions without reliable access to conventional power grids.
By using off-grid power generation technology based on green hydrogen, these communities can power homes, schools, healthcare facilities and small industries. This promotes economic growth and improves living conditions while reducing the carbon footprint. The adoption of green hydrogen for off-grid electrification not only increases energy resilience, but also contributes significantly to a greener and more sustainable future.
Moderated by Prof. Dr. Oliver Mayer of Bayern Innovativ, speakers in the conference "Utilization of green hydrogen for off-grid energy access," which is part of the Off-Grid Conference on December 7-8. December at Messe Augsburg, Germany, will discuss the scope, benefits and challenges of using green hydrogen in off-grid energy access.
