The CHP plant manufacturer 2G Energy AG acquires the Dutch large heat pump manufacturer NRGTEQ. Production will be relocated to Germany with the acquisition.
CHP manufacturer 2G Energy, based in Heek (North Rhine-Westphalia), has acquired Rosmalen (Netherlands)-based NRGTEQ, 2G Energy announced Aug. 28. Founded in 2010, the producer of large heat pumps has been able to install hundreds of systems in commercial, industrial and utility applications in recent years and has the relevant technical expertise in the development and design of decentralized heat supply projects in the higher and high performance spectrum.
In addition to the quality, the company says the suitable portfolio was decisive in the decision to acquire, said CEO Christian Grotholt: "The technology, the competence profile, the sales focus and the corporate culture of NRGTEQ fit perfectly into our existing structures at 2G." 2G customers would soon be able to order high-quality heat pumps from 2G. "Some of these systems will be delivered well before the start of the 2024 heating season."
For 2G Energy, the acquisition is a continuation of its positioning as a full-service provider for decentralized energy supply concepts. With less than ten employees, NRGTEQ achieved sales of 1.5 to 3 million euros annually in recent years. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. NRGTEQ develops and markets water-to-water as well as air-to-water and brine-to-water heat pumps.
The site in the Netherlands will continue to exist as a development and regional sales location under the 2G Energy umbrella, 2G Energy further announced. However, the production of heat pumps will be gradually relocated to Heek in the coming months. In Heek, the existing assembly halls would currently still offer sufficient possibilities for efficient processes and also make a strongly increasing sales volume in the new product branch of heat pumps possible, said the CHP manufacturer in its statement. In the future, the assembly capacities at the Heek site are to be further expanded. The property necessary for it was acquired in the past year.
Already in the current financial year NRGTEQ is to contribute - to a limited extent - to the sales and earnings of the 2G Group. Notable, additional sales, which are booked analogously to the sales with CHP only with the acceptance by the customer, will probably be realized only in the financial year 2025.
The 2G Energy AG is a CHP manufacturer with headquarters in Heek. The portfolio includes plants with an electrical output of 20 to 4,500 kW. The customer spectrum ranges from farmers to municipalities, the housing industry, commercial enterprises, medium-sized industry and large-scale industry to the energy industry. In addition to its headquarters with development and production in Heek in the Münsterland region, 2G is represented by subsidiaries in several European countries as well as North America and employs around 920 people worldwide. Since its founding in 1995, 2G has commissioned more than 8,500 systems worldwide.
