Promotion of photonic and quantum-based technologies for medical diagnostics and therapy

Photonic and quantum-based processes are paving the way for novel improvements in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in medicine. For this reason, research collaborations between scientific technology development, industry and medical research are to be formed that will continue beyond the project.
Funding is provided in two modules
- Module A: Eligible for funding are research and development projects that combine photonic or quantum-based methods with other methods in order to develop a higher specificity/selectivity, faster analysis time, more sensitive measurement, more precise adjustment or sustainable (elimination of disposable products) methods.
Submission deadline: April 30, 2025
- Module B: This funding focuses on research into quantum-based effects and new photonic methods in order to find new fundamental applications in medicine and medical biotechnology. Due to the high degree of innovation of the approaches, the research risk is particularly high.
