Quantum computing in Bavaria

The topic of quantum computing is gaining increasing attention. Although it remains predominantly scientific - and even the required sensitive high-performance computers are still mainly located in research institutions - more and more companies are looking into aspects of the technology's commercial use.

According to a recent potential analysis, 64 percent of respondents expect quantum technologies to have a noticeable impact on their business by 2030. In the banking sector, 59 percent of the decision-makers surveyed see potential areas of application in controlling and the optimization of financial flows. In industrial companies, 26 percent can imagine improvements in logistics processes.

The whitepaperpublished by Bayern Innovativ and the QAR Lab "Quantum Computing in Bavaria - Pathways from Research to Application" aims to raise awareness of the range of applications of quantum computing and to inform potential quantum users what opportunities the field of quantum technology opens up for them.
