Aim of the project
The research project aims to develop the foundations for an IIoT security management platform in the form of a webapp with (partially) automated consulting, requirements and testing tools, which will support users in a structured manner in the development of secure IIoT solutions.
Short description
The growing proportion of intelligent and highly networked IIoT solutions in the course of digitalization is leading to the vulnerability of systems and increasing exposure to cyber attacks in the industrial sector. As a result, components and systems of the IIoT need to be designed securely and considered in an integrated manner with respect to the development process and across all levels of the IIoT stack. Therefore, a catalog of requirements is created in the project and existing consulting concepts are analyzed. The conception and development of a digital platform and individual software modules for the areas of requirement, implementation and validation of a secure IIoT solution will take place. The overall concept is then analyzed using a demonstrator in the areas of both software and hardware. Based on a catalog of questions and specifications, requirements for a secure IIoT solution are (partially) automated and transferred to a requirements management system. Once the IIoT solution has been simulated or implemented, the degree to which the requirements have been met is verified in a (partially) automated manner using an architecture check in the course of penetration tests.
