The goal of GENESIS is to address the deficit of training data in the cybersecurity domain by developing methods for generating and evaluating realistic training and test datasets to improve insider threat and intrusion detection systems.
Short description
For the development and application of AI-supported security systems, up-to-date, representative and fine-grained labeled training data is essential, but often not available due to data protection aspects.
The goal of GENESIS is to address this deficit in the field of cybersecurity by developing methods for generating and evaluating realistic training and test datasets to improve insider threat and intrusion detection systems. Different security-relevant data sources such as network data or host-based log files are taken into account. Another goal of GENESIS is to develop a better understanding of how certain attack scenarios are reflected in different data sources.
Generated training data, methods and lessons learned will be disclosed to enable crowd-based more comprehensive training capabilities as well as a basis for comparison of different approaches in the IT security domain beyond the project consortium.
