After a hacker attack on a Munich-based service provider company that manages websites, the homepage of the Archdiocese of Cologne had been unavailable. The originally expected loss of personal data did not occur, however, and mail and telephone connections were not affected.

Publication of personal and medical data after hacker attack on MCNA
After the U.S. dental insurance company Managed Care of North Amercia (MCNA) was hacked, private data such as addresses, phone numbers and email addresses of the insurers have surfaced on the Darknet. In addition, medical data from treatments or X-rays, for example, have also surfaced. About 9 million customers are affected. The cyber attack was discovered late by the company, so that the attackers were able to call up and copy internal information during this time.
One serious consequence of the attack: social security and driver's license numbers were stolen, with which the criminals can commit crimes under false names, or carry out further attacks much more easily. The well-known ransomware group LockBit from Russia seems to be behind this.

ATU struggles with consequences of a hacker attack
The IT infrastructure of auto parts specialist ATU was affected by a hacker attack As a result, the company could not be reached via the website, telephone or other communication channels, and on-site service could only continue with a delay. Even several weeks after the attack, there are still restrictions for customers, for example with the appointment booking system. It is still unclear whether personal data was also captured. The criminal investigation department is investigating and suspects the Russian hacker group Black Basta behind the attack.
