Bavarian Japanese Chips Partnership
Japan as a partner to the Bavarian semiconductor and automotive industries as part of the "Cross-Cluster Bavaria 2025" initiative
Motivation
Japan is Bavaria's second most important Asian trading partner, while Bavaria is home to 8,000 Japanese and now a stronghold of Japanese companies in Germany with around 450 offices.
The joint project "Bavarian Japanese Chips Partnership" links the two key economic sectors of semiconductors and mobility.
The cross-cluster project is intended to promote exchange between Japanese and Bavarian companies, universities and research institutions, to initiate development cooperations. Thus, the intercontinental network shall be strengthened in order to allow a continuing cooperation beyond the duration of the project.
The topic of securing young talent is also to be considered within the framework of this project.
Concrete project goals
- Informing Bavarian companies about technology trends and activities in Japan/Asia, especially in the areas of semiconductors and automotive
- Establishing and intensifying contacts on both sides ("expert network")
- Inquiring about trends and specific development needs and, based on this, initiating corresponding, transnational development projects
- Support and promotion of development and economic cooperation by highlighting various cooperation opportunities and offering to arrange contacts
- Exchange of strategies for promoting young talent
