BarCamp: Edge AI and smart sensing
April 29, 2025, 10:00 - 17:00, Fraunhofer EMFT Munich
After the successful MeetUp Call in January, the next stage is being ignited: A BarCamp on Edge AI and Smart Sensing will take place in Munich on April 29, 20205 at Fraunhofer EMFT. The event is organized by the Strategische Partnerschaft Sensorik e.V., supported by the Bavarian Chip Design Center BCDC, the Strategic Initiative Neuromorphic Computing of Fraunhofer IIS and Fraunhofer EMFT.
What is a BarCamp?
BarCamps are generally experienced by the participants as a refreshing alternative to traditional conferences: A BarCamp takes place in an informal atmosphere: Everyone is encouraged to contribute their own topics and take part in discussions. The aim of a BarCamp is to test out new ideas, determine interest in a new topic and find fellow campaigners for further activities.
At this BarCamp, topics relating to edge AI and smart sensing will be discussed and project ideas developed. At the beginning, the participants collect their ideas (pitches) on slips of paper. A two-minute presentation is followed by voting: if there are enough votes, the pitch is put on the agenda for the second part of the day. In several parallel 45-minute sessions, speakers present the topics and stimulate discussion. Elaborate presentations are not necessary - the focus is on exchange! The results will be documented before the next session begins.
