The German Energy Agency (dena) yesterday awarded the Energy Efficiency Award (EEA) for the 16th time in a row, this year under the patronage of the Federal Minister of Economics Robert Habeck. Outstanding technological successes and ambitious approaches to the transformation of the energy system were awarded. The prize is endowed with a total of 30,000 euros.

Since 2007, dena has been awarding innovative and creative companies that increase energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gases with their projects and concepts. At yesterday's award ceremony at the dena Energy Transition Congress in Berlin, Dr. Patrick Graichen, State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK), Dr. Philipp Tilleßen, Director of Product Management at KfW, and Andreas Kuhlmann, Chairman of dena's Executive Board, presented the five winners with their prizes.

These five companies received the Energy Efficiency Award 2022

The participating companies had applied in four different categories. In the category "Think big! Complex Energy Transition Projects," two prizes were awarded: One to small and medium-sized companies, the other to a large company. The winners in the "Concepts for a climate-neutral future" category were selected by the public in a pitch. The winners in the respective categories are:
