Bavaria's Minister of Economic Affairs Hubert Aiwanger (Free Voters) has two new battery storage put into operation. They are to compensate for fluctuations in the power grid.
The stores are located in Diespeck (district of Neustadt an der Aisch) and Iphofen (district of Kitzingen). According to the Ministry of Economics, they have a total capacity of 42 MW and a storage volume of 48 MWh.
Together they form the so-called battery storage chain Northern Bavaria. Green electricity from photovoltaics and wind must come even faster and better into the network than before, demanded Minister Aiwanger in Diespeck. The new battery storage facilities are to step in in the future when the distribution network in Bavaria is particularly strained.
