"Living innovation". According to this motto, Bayern Innovativ has been working together with companies, research institutes and innovation carriers since 1995. And we will always continue to do so. In recent years, we have been able to support a wide variety of projects, ideas and people. Each of these tasks was unique and proof of the clout of Bavaria as a state of business and innovation. If we had to name the best projects - we wouldn't know how to choose. That's why we asked a jury.
25 Lighthouse Projects
For our anniversary in 2020, we launched an award under the patronage of Minister of State Hubert Aiwanger. Prizes were awarded to projects that were judged to be particularly outstanding by Bayern Innovativ. The jury selected a total of 25 companies, founders and ideas.
Our Innovation Life Award winners
.For many years, Alumina Systems GmbH has specialized in the development and manufacture of sophisticated ceramic composite components. One of the core competencies of the Upper Franconian company is the production of components made of the high-performance material aluminum oxide. Bayern Innovativ honors the ceramic-metal composite ring for coating semiconductor wafers with the INNOVATION LEBEN AWARD as an exceptional product innovation.
The 3D printer developed by Munich-based Kumovis GmbH enables technical hospital staff to manufacture patient-specific products such as instruments, implants or surgical templates using the 3D printing process directly on site. For its innovative project, Kumovis GmbH is awarded the INNOVATION LEBEN AWARD in the health category for outstanding business model innovation.
The "High Speed E-Axle" from AVL Software and Functions GmbH represents an outstanding product innovation. For this, it is awarded the INNOVATION LEBEN AWARD 2020 in the category "Mobility, Product Innovation" by Bayern Innovativ.
Founded in 2016, Munich-based M3i GmbH specializes in bringing medical expertise and clinical infrastructures into the R&D processes of medical technology companies. For the digital biobank "MxDB", m3i GmbH is awarded the INNOVATION LEBEN AWARD in the category Health as Outstanding Cross Industry Innovation.
.The Munich-based start-up ChargeX offers an answer with its modular charging solution "Aqueduct" to electrify many parking spaces quickly, easily and cost-effectively. For this, it is awarded the INNOVATION LEBEN AWARD 2020 by Bayern Innovativ in the category "Mobility as Technology Innovation".
The resources for electricity storage based on vanadium redox flow (VRF) technology, on the other hand, can be obtained without depleting people and nature. The VoltStorage GmbH , a spin-off of the Technical University of Munich, has succeeded in making the technology available for the mass market as well. Bayern Innovativ honors the VoltStorage GmbH project as a groundbreaking technology innovation with the INNOVATION LEBEN AWARD 2020.

As the fall of 2020 focused on corona containment, the INNOVATION LEBEN AWARD was handed over remotely.
