Cybersecurity in the healthcare sector: Regulation, cloud computing and live hacking - insight and keynote speeches from experts
Regulation for cybersecurity in the healthcare sector has recently been further tightened by the Digital Act (DigiG). However, this is not revolutionary, but merely a continuation of clear trends: cloud computing is explicitly permitted with healthcare data, but is linked to high security requirements. It is made clear that the "state of the art" really does apply to all hospitals. And the interpretation that the "appropriateness" of information security measures primarily means economic discretion when investing in security measures is also dispelled. These regulatory requirements create new clarity and a framework for digitalization in the healthcare sector, but will keep both providers of digital solutions and their customers, and above all hospitals, very busy in the coming years.
In this Insight, Dr. Benedict Gross will give us an insight into the regulation of cyber security in the healthcare sector with his keynote speech: "Regulation is coming: Those who cannot afford or do not want to ensure cyber security are not allowed to process data. What are the important guard rails?"
In addition, Philipp Wittek, Director Revenue at DRACOON GmbH, asks us in his keynote speech "Is the cloud a secure vault or an open window for hackers?" a nd uses a practical example to illustrate the security precautions taken for a type 2 C5-compliant cloud storage solution for sensitive data. He also covers critical components such as the zero-trust policy and the requirements for data protection-compliant storage in accordance with the GDPR. In addition, the security aspects of cloud and on-premises solutions will be compared
