Taking Mobility Applications to the Stars

24. May 2023

09:00 - 16:30

Automotive and mobility applications require reliable communication networks that provide full coverage anywhere people might need to be mobile (so, everywhere!). Non-terrestrial and satellite networks are an interesting option for providing coverage, but, in the past, weren’t always able to offer adequate response times. The integration of NTNs with 5G and 6G, the increasing use of low-orbit constellations, and the use of drones for temporary coverage are enabling new applications and use cases for automotive and mobility. At this event, you can:

Non-Terrestrial and Satellite Networks for Automotive and Mobility Applications

Automotive and mobility applications require reliable communication networks that provide full coverage anywhere people might need to be mobile (so, everywhere!). Non-terrestrial and satellite networks are an interesting option for providing coverage, but, in the past, weren’t always able to offer adequate response times. The integration of NTNs with 5G and 6G, the increasing use of low-orbit constellations, and the use of drones for temporary coverage are enabling new applications and use cases for automotive and mobility. At this event, you can:

  • Hear presentations from experts in NTN, satellite and 6G communication, and from experts in communication for mobility and automotive applications.
  • Discuss the vision for NTN and 6G communication for mobility applications
  • Inform yourself about current activities in the NTN and mobility ecosystems
  • Learn how you can get involved

Guided tours at the DLR, Oberpfaffenhofen

After the presentations, you will have the opportunity to take part in three guided tours at the DLR headquarters, and can visit:
