Community of Practice: Care and AAL Part 2 Workshop: CoP Meeting: Certification for AAL Providers

On February 09 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m., the ZD.B Digital Health/Medicine Topic Platform, together with C&S GmbH and Kaiser-Amm GmbH, will host the second meeting of the "Community of Practice: care and AAL". Join us for the second event on the topic of "Certification for AAL Providers" and discuss with us the concrete further procedure for AAL certification! The CoP meeting will take place online and is free for you.

Active or Ambient Assisted Living (AAL)

Active or Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) is also often titled as "Smart Home for seniors", but it is much more than that. For one thing, AAL applications are not just for seniors, but for all people who are affected by limitations in their daily sovereignty due to illnesses or accidents.

AAL systems therefore support people in finding their way in everyday life as independently and autonomously as possible. Among the best-known AAL systems are the classic home emergency call applications. But also, for example, the motorization of shutters known from the smart home can be a great relief for those affected and then belongs in this case to the AAL systems. This also shows that a demarcation between Smart Home and AAL is not always separable feasible.

Part 2 Workshop: Certification for AAL providers - Join the discussion!

Now, in the future, providers of AAL solutions are to be certified in order to be able to offer their products on the market. In the first meeting of the CoP we have already discussed first important points. In the second part we want to discuss the concrete further procedure.

The certifications are partly cost-intensive and for the aimed supply quality possibly not purposeful. We will address this problem and start to evaluate the situation in the upcoming workshop of the "CoP Pflege und AAL" as well as develop counter or alternative proposals for a targeted assurance of quality in AAL products. We will also discuss what the goal of the CoP on AAL certifications should be. For example, a position paper could be developed together with the Bundesverband Hausnotruf and other associations. The goal is that "social innovations" are not hindered and at the same time the quality of the solutions for the users becomes transparent.

What the further procedure of the CoP will be, we want to discuss in the meeting of the Community of Practice care on 09.02.2022, 15:00 - 17:00, to discuss with you.
